25 Things To Do Before I Turn 25
Oh hey there blogosphere. It has been quite a few months since my last post and for that I do apologize, however, the break was much needed with the rush of the end of the semester and all the traveling I've been doing. The break is almost over and the new year has just begun.I've never been good at New Year Resolutions. So I'm trying something new; I'm making a life to-do list. I'll be turning 22 in a few short weeks, and three years seems like enough time to knock out some big life goals. And hopefully they will be much more realistic than "Go to the gym every day and lose 20 pounds." While that would be nice, I hope the things on my list are less superficial and more emotional and adventurous. Well, here it goes.
- Spend less time in bed.
- Take more walks with my dogs.
- Travel to Europe.
- Take a roadtrip.
- Get more tattoos.
- Volunteer more.
- Spend more time laughing and less time stressing.
- Have margaritas on the beach.
- Go to more concerts.
- Read more books; not for school, but for fun.
- Spend more time figure-skating.
- Try more new foods.
- Get out of debt....well, try, at least.
- Be more spontaneous.
- Spend more time unplugged.
- Find something to be thankful for every day.
- Create more art.
- Prioritize and focus on school.
- Build my relationship into something meaningful every day.
- Find three new things to be passionate about.
- Pay it forward more often.
- Send more mail.
- Learn a new language.
- Forgive more often.
- Apologize when I'm wrong, but never when I'm right.
I had already been writing this list in my head before I sat down at my keyboard, and it may shock you that I didn't put "get married" as one of those things, but I realized that as much as I want to get married, I shouldn't feel so left as I watch all my friends getting engaged and married. Instead, I want to build my relationship every day, and if marriage comes in these next three years, then I will know that it is because it's right and not because it's just something I want. I know all the things on this list are things I want, but I also know that they are things that are right.I hope the things on your list are things that are right and not necessarily just things you want, and I hope you have many things to look forward to this year!
