"Girl, you are going to change the world."
Wow. So first of all, I would like to apologize for not keeping up with this! I have been so busy at work trying to finish the website, and I must say, it looks pretty awesome. Check it out! (airshowposters.us)
What I really want to talk about is the AMAZING conference I went to today hosted by AGBeat and Constant Contact for Small-Medium Businesses. We basically broke into groups and had leader-driven discussions about certain topics. I attended four sessions: "Why/How Social Media Euphoria is Dying," "Blogging for Business," "Building Your Brand: it's the cargo, not the container," and "Whole Media Concepts."
Each was intriguing in it's own right, but what I loved most was being surrounded by people who are passionate about what I am passionate about and listening to them talk about their own experiences and knowing that I too can someday achieve all these dreams I have. It was so inspiring to network with people who have knowledge that they want to share and walk away knowing that I have just been given 25 potential internship mentors. I sat in awe during the discussions, as I didn't have much to say, but I hung onto every word like they would be the last I would ever hear.
At the end of the conference I suggested that they should hold similar events and invite interns, to give them the same networking and learning opportunity that I had accidentally been handed, and one of the directors said that I had a stellar idea, and she would only launch it if I would come back and speak about my experiences. I smiled and said of course, anytime!
I can't believe that I was given such an accidental blessing. I have learned so much about myself, the business world, the social media world, and the future. I am beyond excited for the upcoming changes in the business and social media worlds, and am ecstatic that I get to be a part of all the action.
